How long does a tank water heater last?
Roughly a decade for most tanks — hard water and never-flushed sediment shorten that. The warning signs: rusty hot water, rumbling or popping sounds, and moisture around the base. Once the tank body itself leaks, replacement is the only honest fix, so those signs are your planning window.
What size tank do I need?
It depends on people and peak use — back-to-back showers, laundry, a soaking tub. Bigger than needed wastes standing heat all day; too small means cold third showers. We'll ask about the household's actual rhythm and size to that, not to whatever the shelf default happens to be.
Can you replace my water heater the same day?
On a standard like-for-like swap, that's the goal — out with the old, in with the new, hot water by evening. Venting or gas-line corrections can add time, and we'll tell you at the quote if yours needs them. No hot water is a same-day problem, and we schedule it like one.
