The part nobody advertises
The federal 25C and 25D tax credits are dead
The federal 25C and 25D tax credits expired — they ended for equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025. For a 2026 installation, they are worth exactly zero.
Plenty of contractors are still advertising those credits this year. We won't do that. A quote built on money that no longer exists isn't a deal — it's a surprise you find at tax time.
Here's the honest 2026 picture instead: the real money now sits with the utilities — ComEd on the electric side, Nicor Gas, Peoples Gas, and North Shore Gas on the gas side — plus state-administered income-qualified programs. All of it is below, from a single verified source.
2026 utility rebate programs
These programs are live. Where an amount shows, it came from our verified rebate register — never from a sales brochure. Where it doesn't, the utility publishes the figure at quote time and we'll confirm it before you sign anything. Register last verified July 2, 2026.
ComEd electric
The electric side of the ledger — heat pumps, high-efficiency central AC, and smart thermostats. ComEd's 2026 heat pump rebates tier by heating capacity (tonnage), so the same model can land in a different tier depending on how it's sized.

One structural note
Gas utilities rebate gas equipment — none of them rebates a heat pump. Heat pump and AC money runs through ComEd. If you're weighing a furnace against a heat pump, that difference belongs in the math, and we'll put it there.
Income-qualified households: the state-administered HOMES and HEAR programs remain a 2026 pathway for households that meet the income rules. Eligibility is decided by the program administrators, not by us — so we won't promise you qualify. What we will do: flag it when your project looks like a fit, and point you at the official application.
Financing that reads like a sentence
A new system is a real purchase, and most of our customers don't pay for it in one check. We'll structure your quote as a monthly payment — one number, next to the rebate math, so you can judge the whole thing on a single page.
